Mentor Professional Development for STEP 2022-23

Description of Course Investigation into strategies which develop mentor capacities to support novice teachers.  Learning Objectives Mentors will analyze implementation of:    - Mentoring practices that support the development of novice inquiry into teaching and learning    - Mentoring practices that engage candidates in collaborative inquiry into teaching and learning, particularly with their peers who share a clinical placement or school community

Instructor: Sibyl Frankenburg

About the Instructor: Sibyl Frankenburg is a former high school social studies teacher with 10+ years experience as an instructional coach. She received her PhD in Teacher Quality and Teacher Education from U.W. and currently works as an instructional coach in the Secondary Teacher Education Program. She also works for Educurious, a non-profit curriculum development organization, facilitating professional development for teachers.
