The Haring Center is excited to offer half-day in-person training opportunities for Early Childhood Providers!

What: A unique training opportunity focused on strategies to support the individualization of children with different learning and behavioral needs into early learning and care settings. The training will be a mix of discussion, resource sharing, observations of the Haring Center’s inclusive preschool classrooms, and the opportunity to plan and make materials for your program.

Topics:
Inclusion Workshop: Building Belonging Together
Belonging is at the heart of high-quality early learning—and every child deserves to be fully included, valued, and supported as an active member of their classroom community. This in-person workshop introduces educators to practical, evidence-based strategies for individualizing support for learners with complex needs.
Grounded in the “Building Blocks” Inclusion Framework, participants will learn how to embed simple, effective individualized support within everyday routines and activities, ensuring all children can meaningfully participate alongside their peers. Through interactive discussion, hands-on resource sharing, and guided observations of the Haring Center’s inclusive preschool classrooms, educators will see these strategies in action and reflect on how to apply them in their own settings.
Dates: Mon, Jan 12th | Fri, Mar 20th (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM PT)

Inclusion Workshop: Using Visuals to Promote Active Engagement
Visual supports are among the most powerful tools for helping young children participate, communicate, and stay engaged—especially in inclusive early learning settings. This in-person workshop at the Haring Center will equip educators with practical strategies for using visuals to support emotional regulation, problem-solving, communication, play, transitions, and independence across the day.
Participants will explore a wide range of visual supports, learn when and how to introduce them, and see real examples in action through guided observations of the Haring Center’s inclusive preschool classrooms.
The workshop blends interactive discussion, hands-on resource sharing, and dedicated time to plan and create visuals tailored to your own learning environment. Educators will leave with a collection of ready-to-use visuals and a clearer understanding of how simple, well-designed supports can boost engagement for all learners!
Dates: Fri, Jan 23rd | Mon, Mar 23rd (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM PT)

Inclusion Workshop: Building a Culture of Friendship and Supporting Friendship Opportunities
Strong peer relationships are foundational to children’s learning, confidence, and long-term success—and early childhood educators play a key role in helping every child form meaningful friendships. This in-person workshop at the Haring Center offers practical, evidence-based strategies for intentionally supporting friendship skills in inclusive early learning environments.
We will explore ways to create a culture of friendship, embed friendship opportunities throughout the day, and support children as they develop skills for sharing, problem-solving, and resolving conflicts. The workshop blends interactive discussion, hands-on resource sharing, and guided observations of the Haring Center’s inclusive preschool classrooms, allowing participants to see strategies in action.
